Toning Fitness Equipment for Women

Men and women have different goals when they workout and therefore have different workout regimens. Most men want to bulk up and build muscle while women want to tone their muscles and slim down. Because these goals are different it is important that you are using the right fitness equipment and using them properly.

For women who want to tone their muscles there are few things that you need to remember. First, you are trying to maximize the number of repetitions you do not maximize the weight. You need to choose a lighter weight so you are able to do more repetitions. You can use either free weights or an exercise machine.

One popular piece of fitness equipment that women use is the medicine ball. This is a small ball about two to 12 pounds in weight that is used to increase muscle strength and endurance. You can use this ball for catching, throwing and reaching movements which allows you to work out your entire body.

Many women also like to use toning bands. You can use these bands to tone abdominals, arms, shoulders, chest, back, legs, thighs and buttocks. These are great because they will add shape to your body and can be easily stored and moved.

Stability balls have recently gained a lot of popularity. Many people like to join a class or watch a video so they can get ideas about the different types of exercises that can be done with the stability ball. The best part about the stability ball is that it can fun to your routine.

So many women are already doing cardio exercise and really enjoy it. If you want to tone your muscles at the same time then all you need to do is get light weights for your wrist or ankle. These are great to use while you are jogging, walking or doing aerobics.

Yoga has taken off in the last five years as a fabulous exercise for toning. Many people who are just starting find that the poses and stretches can be quite difficult. If this is the case for you don't give up. All you need to do is get a yoga block or a yoga band. A block is made of foam and can be placed under your body during many of the poses to help support you. The bands are used to help you with the deep stretches.

If you are going to be exercising it is most beneficial to your entire body to use a mat. A mat will act as a cushion when you are on the floor and will absorb impact when you are doing cardio. Many mats are foldable, portable and easy to store or carry along with you.

Whichever fitness equipment that you decide to use you should make sure that it is working properly. Be sure to consult your doctor when you are starting a new exercise routine. Have fun with your exercises and don't forget to mix it up.
